Cockroach Control

On the list of common pests found in the home, cockroaches are near the top. These insects which come out at night have been around for a considerable time. They adjust to their environment and can be exceptionally difficult to locate. If you come across one, the likelihood there are a lot more, and you need to deal with it urgently. They are not just an ordinary pest because cockroaches can bring health issues into your home. American Cockroach:

American Cockroache

You can find the American cockroach in many places, such as apartments, residential properties, and office blocks or commercial spaces. Bigger than that of the German cockroach, they are often found in food preparation or storage areas.

Color – RDark brown to a reddish-brown

Length – 1-2" with a flat, oval-shaped body

Diet – They pretty much eat anything humans eat. They are not fussy about their food and will happily feast on food crumbs, liquids or any other food source that has been left open or is available to them.

Habitat – Throughout the day, they will find somewhere to hide. Once night falls, they will crawl out from the hiding place and look for food and water. They prefer areas with high humidity.

Impact – These pests can bring health hazards into your environment. While the American cockroach is not renowned for biting, they effortlessly disperse disease bacterially and virally. If they have gained access to food areas, their waste matter may infect the food.

German Cockroach:

American Cockroach

Across city areas, the German cockroach is a common pest. You may find them in homes, apartments, hotels, and restaurants. The German cockroach is smaller than that of the American cockroach.

Color – Brown to light brown

Length – ½ - ⅝" with a flat, oval shaped body.

Diet – They are known to have a vast and varied diet, and feed on any foods which humans leave out or throw in the bin. Their varied appetite ranges from fat, greasy food, meat, and sweets.

Habitat – Their ideal environment is warm and moist. You can find them in bathrooms, around dishwashers and occasionally near sinks. They are night-time active, and during the day hide away in crevices and cracks.

Impact – They are known to carry and leave behind them, bacterial and viral disease, like that of the American cockroach, and so they are detrimental to the human environment.
